Exploring the World Around Us

At primary level students are encouraged to begin exploring the world through first-hand experiences and practical activities. The Marble Arch Caves hope to nurture a spirit of adventure and exploration with all our student visitors. Through learning and play, and practical field activities, students develop a sense of environmental stewardship.

They begin to develop an understanding that the world we live in has a range of environments, habitats, plants and animals, that are unique and connected. We hope to inspire students to gain an appreciation of the natural world and to see the benefits of protecting it through practical conservation, awareness and by following principles such as Leave No Trace, to reinforce values which protect people and place.

Our education team are delighted to offer a range of resources at primary level to encourage students to explore the natural world and develop a deeper understanding of it through investigation and science.  The area will be populated with printable materials such as handouts and worksheets, links to digital content such as videos and imagery, and activity ideas to assist students with curriculum content outlined under the most recent NI and ROI specifications.
