Hidden in the landscape above the Marble Arch Caves, this peaceful trail leads you through a narrow, steep-sided limestone gorge, thickly cloaked in one of Ireland’s last remaining ancient ash woodlands. Follow the river as it flows past tumbling waterfalls, moss-covered rocks, and wildflowers that change with the seasons.

This linear walk passes the famous Marble Arch – the largest cave exit in Ireland and the UK – where the underground river rises to the surface once more. Alive with birdsong, rustling leaves, and the soothing sounds of flowing water, Cladagh Glen is a vibrant haven of life. Rainfall from nearby Cuilcagh Mountain seeps through layers of blanket bog and limestone before emerging from the Marble Arch Caves. Here, crystal-clear waters tumble through the gorge, fed by cascading waterfalls and weaving through ancient ash woodland – a breathtaking reminder of nature’s quiet power and enduring beauty.
On The Day
Be sure to wear sturdy walking shoes or boots, apply sun cream, and don’t forget to bring a camera to capture the stunning scenery along the way.
