On 1st May 1985, the Marble Arch Caves was opened as a tourist attraction. 39 years later and thanks to the efforts of countless cave tour guides, rangers, management team, cavers and respectful visitors, the show cave remains just as majestic today!
Striking a careful balance between conservation and accessibility along with the cave tour guides efforts in educating visitors of this unique and precious environment. The Marble Arch Caves have had over 2 million visitors who experienced this magical underground world of caverns, glistening formations and gushing rivers.
The history of the Marble Arch Caves is still being written. It is our responsibility to protect these caves for future generations to enjoy. It is only through educating people of the importance of this unique natural environment that we can hope to preserve them for future generations.
