Spring Shared Education Programme at Marble Arch Caves

The staff at Marble Arch Caves had a blast throughout February and March as we hosted 3 local schools for a very special Shared Education Programme 🚌.

Students from St Tierney’s PS, St Macartan’s PS and Aghadrumsee CPS joined together for a programme of outreach activities and fieldwork in a quest to discover more about the World Around Us through interactive activities and outdoor learning 🌱.

Our Education Guides had lots of fun delivering exercises in cookie-mining 🍪, Virtual Reality Cave Exploration, building habitats with models and kinetic sand, learning about bugs 🐛 and biodiversity 🦋 and the amazing animals 🦡 that live close to home. Students also got the opportunity to build their own bug viewers and used them during a visit to the Marble Arch Caves when the completed our Woodland Study session.

After three weeks of outreach programmes delivered in the schools by our Education Guided, followed by a visit to the Marble Arch Caves (Cladagh Glen) for their outdoor fieldwork Woodland Study activity, we hope they enjoyed learning with us, and hope to see them again in future 😊.
