Event Information- Cuilcagh Mountain
Following on from the recent success and positive feedback on the recycling station on Cuilcagh, the rangers from Marble Arch Caves and Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark are joining forces again by organising a community litter pick of the Cuiclagh Boardwalk Trail mountain.
Time doesn’t always allow for us to get to all the hard-to-reach places and so we are appealing to all countryside lovers to please come and join us on Saturday 7th May at 10.00am and help us to make a REAL difference! We will meet at the Marble Arch Caves Visitor Centre where light refreshments will be provided along with the equipment required. We will split into teams, depending on fitness levels, and transport will then be provided to the relevant section of the mountain.
During this thorough litter pick, you will hear first-hand from our Ranger teams about this unique landscape. You will traverse the peatland habitats and hopefully see some of the native wildlife that call it home. We will discuss how we apply the principles of ‘Leave No Trace’ and how we manage this unique and important area.
