International Media Group visit the Marble Arch Caves
We were thrilled to welcome an International Media Group organised by Tourism Northern Ireland on the 6th June, for an enchanting Martel Candlelight Tour of the Marble Arch Caves. Our Operations Officer, Sean, dressed as Edouard Martel—the pioneering explorer of the cave in 1895—led the underground tour. Visitors experienced the cave just as Edouard Martel did, navigating the network of passages by candlelight and learning about his original exploration techniques.
This special tour was part of a larger initiative to showcase Northern Ireland’s diverse activities. The media group, representing top travel and outdoor publications from Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the US, embarked on a journey through County Down, County Fermanagh, Mid Ulster, and the North Coast. Their adventure in Fermanagh included the Martel Candlelight Tour of the Marble Arch Caves, the Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail, and canoeing to Devenish Island.
