Marble Arch Caves was delighted to welcome Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald on 16 September, as she visited tourism businesses across County Fermanagh to celebrate the success of Tourism Northern Ireland’s “Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands” marketing campaign.
During her visit, the Minister experienced the Marble Arch Caves Guided Tour, travelling underground to discover one of Fermanagh’s most distinctive natural attractions and the remarkable landscape beneath the Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark.
The visit highlighted the important role Marble Arch Caves, alongside tourism partners across the county, plays in showcasing Fermanagh as an attractive visitor destination.
The recent Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands campaign has helped raise the profile of County Fermanagh, with 82% of those surveyed recognising that Fermanagh is now part of the Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands brand, while 80% agreed that the campaign made Fermanagh seem worth a visit.
Marble Arch Caves was one of several Fermanagh tourism experiences featured in the campaign, alongside Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark, Lough Erne Resort, Erne Water Taxis and Boatyard Distillery.
We are proud to work alongside Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Cuilcagh Lakelands UNESCO Global Geopark and tourism partners across the county to showcase Fermanagh’s unique landscapes, waterways, geological heritage and visitor experiences.
The Minister’s visit provided a great opportunity to celebrate the campaign’s success and look ahead to continued collaboration in encouraging more visitors to discover Fermanagh.
